I’ve become a Foster Home for BARK ottawa where animals that would be euthanized due to lack of shelter space are placed until they find a permanent home.

Meet Rosy, she is a 6yr old Boxer mix.

She is medium size and a little pleasantly plump! She presently lives
in a house with no other animals but has been taking full advantage of the off leash dog park around the corner (where she is well behaved with other dogs but is still trying to understand what this play thing is all about).

She also very much enjoys the buzz of her downtown neighbourhood. She likes accompanying her foster parents everywhere and is even happy just even relaxing on a crowded patio and watching the world go by, even children swirling around do not seem to phase her very much.

She likes nothing more than to be around her family and likes attention. If you want to make her happy, just play with her and give her some affection and you’ll be her new best friend.

Although we are not quite sure of her full background we know that she can walk off leash, give paw, sit, stay, and she even learned to let “humans” walk through doors before her. But she has yet to learn these commands in English, so her new family may want to learn the words “donne la patte” / “assie” / “reste” et “coucher”

Rosy is looking for a calm family, she likes to have a seat and a breather during long walks and although she is a good little sprinter, she could not be considered as an active running partner. She needs a spot, with a loving family, a blanket and a food bowl and she’ll be the best companion ever.
