So if you have spent any time around me during the last few months, you will know what this title refers too. See most people when they decide to make a change, the goal usually starts by being a couch to 5km. Without really setting a goal, other than just getting my old body back, I quickly realized that not only was I back in shape to do a triathlon this spring, but good enough shape to get perhaps a PR on race day!
So now, my life seems to consist of swimming, biking and running and this book has become pretty much my bible.
Most training and literature out there is geared towards the male triathlete. Reading some of it, I was thinking it made no sense so I decided to go find something geared for women and it has proven useful!
I now have someone to push me with my runs, a SPIN coach whom I like to call the devil and a swim partner who will hopefully help me learn to love that leg of the race.
Now that being said, still the majority of my good friends seem to think I have a screw lose for enjoying putting my body through this, but they are all seriously awesome by encouraging me and putting up with my antics.
Since getting back on the wagon, over 76lbs went flying out the window and I was even selected as a winner, posted on the MSN homepage on new years as one of 6 weight loss winners! Uber proud of this (slide 3/4): Weight Loss Winners – 1 – MSN Health & Fitness – Weight Loss Slide Show
So now… other than working on increasing pace in the next few months, I also have to work on recovery, no matter how much I want to go in for that training… the old adage ” more is better” is not necessarily what will bring me to my PR time!
Anyway, stay tune!

U ROCK Isa! You and some others friends have inspired me to do a life style change as well. Not as dramatic as yours because I don’t want to be a triathlete but still a great big change. Kona Ironman Championship is calling you;) I’ll be your chase car driver! I was 235 and now I am 192 because of jogging and watching what I eat. Keep on keeping on!

That’s the book my wife uses as her Tri bible, as well.
Rinse, repeat. So true.
